# Dambula Quartz Sites ## Overview Carbonatik is excited to announce the exploration of a promising quartz deposit in the Dambula area of Sri Lanka. This 50-acre site, located 15km from Dambula town, shows significant potential for high-quality quartz extraction. ## Terrain - Reserved forest area in the highland region ## Geological Highlights - Primary rock types: Charnockite Gneissic and pyroclastic amphibolite with quartz & feldspar minerals - Structure: East to West strike with a nearly vertical dip towards South ## Deposit Characteristics Our initial field observations reveal: 1. A thin layer of red topsoil (0-2 meters) 2. Exposed quartz mineral (below 2 meters) 3. Quartz veins associated with gneissic rock 4. Vein thickness: Approximately 15 to 30 meters 5. Known depth: Exceeding 30 meters (based on existing mine data) ## Quartz Quality Preliminary assessments suggest high-quality quartz suitable for various industrial applications. Further analysis will determine specific grades and potential uses. ## Current Activity Small-scale mechanical mining operations are currently active in the area, confirming the site's potential for quartz extraction. ## Next Steps To fully evaluate the economic viability of this site, Carbonatik plans to: 1. Conduct detailed geological mapping across the entire 50-acre area 2. Perform comprehensive geophysical surveys 3. Implement a strategic drilling program 4. Develop proper benches in the existing mine for more efficient extraction 5. Hire technical experts to optimize quartz mineral extraction and grading processes These steps will help us determine the full extent of the quartz deposit and its potential for large-scale commercial development. ## Potential Based on our initial observations and the area's geological conditions, we believe there's a strong possibility that a significant portion of the forest area contains valuable quartz deposits. Our exploration efforts will focus on establishing the continuation of the quartz veins towards the East or West. Carbonatik is committed to responsible exploration and development, especially given the site's location in a reserved forest area. We will work closely with local authorities, communities, and environmental experts to ensure our activities are conducted in an environmentally sensitive manner. Stay tuned for updates as we uncover the full potential of the Dambula Quartz Sites and develop our expertise in quartz extraction and processing.

Carbonatik © 2024
