# Eheliyagoda Graphite Site ## Overview Carbonatik is excited to announce the exploration of a promising graphite deposit near Eheliyagoda, Sri Lanka. This 4-acre site, located just 5km from Eheliyagoda town, shows significant potential for high-grade crystalline graphite. ## Terrain - Flat plain with alluvial deposits ## Geological Highlights - Underlying rock: Charnockite and Biotite Gneissic - Structure: Northeast to Southwest strike with a nearly vertical dip towards Southeast ## Deposit Characteristics Our initial field observations reveal: 1. A laterite topsoil layer (0-3 meters) 2. Clay formation (3-7 meters) 3. Weathered rock containing crystalline graphite (below 7 meters) ## Graphite Quality Preliminary assessments suggest high-grade crystalline graphite with an estimated carbon content exceeding 95%. This quality is comparable to some of the best graphite deposits globally. ## Historical Context The area has a history of small-scale traditional gemstone mining. During these activities, high-quality graphite crystals were frequently encountered, indicating the site's potential for graphite extraction. ## Next Steps To fully assess the economic viability of this site, Carbonatik plans to: 1. Conduct detailed geological mapping 2. Perform comprehensive geophysical surveys 3.
